Our Story

In 2021, I joined a phenomenal fitness group called YJ821. The fitness group was made up of cultured women, working towards a healthier lifestyle by focusing on the mind, body and soul. From there, the instructor could see my determination, and asked if I was up for a greater challenge, which granted me the opportunity to fully lead a hike on my own. This was the first physical interaction I had as my own boss in this field.

During preparation I sought out some popular hiking trails and set out to lead the first hike. With hard work, and courage, we all pushed through and made it to the finish line.

Along the hike I was instructed to reflect on improving myself mentally, physically and emotionally so that I may complete the task successfully.  I quickly learned that hiking was a line of therapy for me.

As I hiked consistently, I started allowing the experience to guide my reflection. This was where the hike lessons were developed. I vowed that no matter the current weather conditions, the hike would still prevail. Doing this, showed gratitude, strength and dedication, which allowed us to stay true to self no matter how hard the obstacle may be.

Through my newfound devotion for hiking, I have been able to find many lessons that can be applied to everyday life.

As you look through the program options and hike lessons, let’s work together to choose the best path for you.

Ashley Dabney, a Louisville native, and proud alum of the University of Louisville, where I completed both my undergraduate and master’s degree, decided to take my skills and form it into Accelerating Hills!

My professional career has been centered around my passion for youth. I have effortlessly held many titles and have worked in numerous capacities. I have held roles in residential treatment facilities, as well as the public school system. My experience in some positions involved working directly with students and families, while other positions assisted in supporting staff.

In 2019, I founded a unique book club, entitled, Bookaholics of Louisville. The book club birthed due to my passion of wanting to essentially host meetings, create opportunity of engagements with open discussion with a diverse group, all while empowering and uplifting others. This project became a direct correlation to my newfound business PATH.
